City North Comments Off on City North

If you’ve recently relocated here, High Street (the active first phase of CityNorth) is a great place to get to know the vibe of North Phoenix / Desert Ridge. It offers a relaxed but upscale-casual mix: restaurants, shops, salons, outdoor gathering spaces. It’s not overwhelming like a giant mall, but it still has enough variety for everything from grabbing brunch, meeting people, running errands, or enjoying a night out. It makes for a nice change of pace from suburban strip malls because it feels walkable, fresh, with good outdoor design (patios, lighting, landscaping) so you can enjoy Phoenix’s weather most of the year.

Location

High Street sits in Desert Ridge / North Phoenix, one of the fast-growing, well-served parts of the Valley. It’s quite accessible from major roads and near the Loop 101 freeway, so getting there is convenient whether you’re coming from Phoenix, Scottsdale, or further north. If you’re living in or around the Deer Valley, Paradise Valley, or even up near Cave Creek, it’s not too far and offers a lot of what people like without needing to go into downtown traffic.

Layout

This is a mixed-use, open-air “one street / district” environment more than a single enclosed mall. Shops, restaurants, fitness, salons, and residences are integrated so there’s a sense of strolling rather than rushing through. You’ll find outdoor patios, good pedestrian flow, and places to sit and hang out. Parking is available, though during peak dinner or event times it can fill up, so arriving a bit earlier helps. The design leans modern with clean lines, green landscaping, and a comfortable atmosphere—not overly “glossy mall,” but polished.
