If you’ve just relocated to Scottsdale (or North Phoenix / DC Ranch area), Market Street is a fantastic place to begin putting down roots socially and practically. It’s more than just a shopping center — it has that village / Main-Street feel: places to eat, shops to explore, services close by, and a walkable, comfortable atmosphere. When you’re still getting used to the heat, having a spot where you can stroll outside (or hop between indoor-outdoor) with good food, casual shops, and day-to-day conveniences makes life easier. It’s a nice way to meet people, try new restaurants, run errands, or just unwind without going far.
Location
Market Street is in North Scottsdale, in the DC Ranch neighborhood. The anchor intersection is Pima Road and Thompson Peak Parkway. It’s quite accessible from many of the newer residential areas up north, and if you live in DC Ranch, Desert Camp, or nearby parts of the McDowell Corridor, you’ll find it very convenient. Being part of a mixed-use, planned community, you get services, dining, entertainment, and shops all in one place.
Layout
-
It spans about 37 acres and is designed with a “Main Street / small town” aesthetic. There are multiple architecturally distinct buildings (about 15) rather than just one mall building.
-
Mixed-use: retail, restaurants, neighborhood services, offices.
-
There are plazas and open spaces, good pedestrian flow, lots of landscaping and spots to sit. Things feel less formal than a big mall, more like a community center.
-
It’s walkable among the shops/restaurants, but parking is needed (there are lots/garages / surface lots). Depending on time of day, it might be busier.
