Views

The course delivers dramatic desert scenery. Expect rugged canyon walls, ridged terrain, shady desert washes, and big views from elevated tees. The “Wicked 6” finishing holes traverse up a canyon back toward the clubhouse, offering particularly memorable vistas of the surrounding desert and mountains.

Course Difficulty

From the back/black tees, SunRidge Canyon is a demanding track. With slope of 140 and rating 72.3, it challenges strong players with length (6,823 yards), uphill and downhill shots, and hazards (bunkers, desert terrain, elevation changes). The final six holes (“Wicked 6”) are especially tough, as you climb back toward the clubhouse, battling wind and steep terrain, especially on par 4s and 5s. For mid-handicap players the front nine and middle holes offer relief, but the closing stretch can really put pressure on scores.

Price

$$$

Tee fees are on the premium side for public courses in the area. SunRidge Canyon offers high quality conditioning, amenities, and a memorable layout, which are reflected in the cost.

Final Verdict

SunRidge Canyon Golf Club is well worth playing for golfers who value scenery, challenge, and a rugged desert experience without needing private access. If you can handle its tougher holes (especially the Wicked 6), the layout, views, and conditions deliver strong value. For anyone visiting Scottsdale or Fountain Hills, it should be on your “must-play” list.
