Shiv Dinner Club Comments Off on Shiv Dinner Club

If you’ve recently relocated and want a place that mixes dinner, entertainment, and a night out all in one spot, Shiv could be just what you’re looking for. It’s not your average steakhouse or date night restaurant — it aims for spectacle. If you like places where the experience is part of the appeal (lighting, design, performance, interactive touches), Shiv delivers. It’s good for celebrating something, impressing people, or just trying something new once you settle in and want to see what the upscale “scene” in Scottsdale is like.

Location

Shiv is located at 7373 E Camelback Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.  That’s in central/Old Town Scottsdale—not quite North Scottsdale but still very accessible, especially if you’re exploring the city. There is valet parking offered.

Price

$$$$

This place is definitely on the pricey side. Many menu items are premium — think Wagyu, Tomahawk steaks, high-end seafood, fancy starters. Cocktails, the wine list, the dessert room — all premium priced. If you go expecting a show + dinner, know that the bill will reflect that.

Ambience

Shiv leans heavily into atmosphere. It’s dramatic, stylish, and built for impression. Large space (~13,800 square feet), modern design with sculptural features, dramatic lighting, greenery, high-end finishes.  There’s live entertainment nightly; as the evening progresses, the vibe becomes more lounge-/nightlife-oriented. Also they have a “Dessert Room” concept for after dinner that tilts toward indulgence and show.  If you want something intimate and chill, it may feel a bit loud or “on.” If you like energy and spectacle, it’s strong.

Food

Here’s what works and what people have noted:

What’s good / promising:

  • The menu is creative. Starters like Truffle Butter Bread Service, cold seafood towers, caviar domes, and inventive small plates show ambition.
  • High-end steaks (charcoal-fired, Wagyu, the Colossal Tomahawk which is presented tableside) are a focal point.
  • Dessert Room has ambitious desserts and finishings meant to enhance the overall mood and make the evening more memorable.

What people say could be better:

  • Some early reviews (on Reddit etc.) say that while the vibe, décor, and show are great, the food doesn’t always live up to expectations—some dishes are underwhelming.
  • Dessert, in particular, got criticism from some: expectations were high, but some say the actual taste / execution didn’t match the concept.

Service

Service gets a mix of praise and critiques:

  • Positives: Staff seem polished, professional, attentive. Because Shiv is intended to be premium, staff are oriented toward making things feel special (tableside services, presentation, etc.).
  • Negatives: In the “room” that’s meant to feel private, some guests say that it doesn’t feel very secluded—staff moving through, visibility into the main room, etc. Some mention waits or pacing issues during very busy times.

Final Verdict

If you’re new to town and want to experience something that blurs the line between dinner, performance, and nightlife, Shiv Supper Club is worth going to at least once. It’s flashy, immersive, and very much built for a memorable night out. That said — go in with tempered expectations on the food: while many things are excellent, not everything might match the hype or price for every palate.
